Week-1, Task 3. Describe The Following Quote
The task is quite straightforward; select any question from the given list under task 3,
and come up with a description of the question itself.
THE QUOTE SELECTED:
" Without clear lines of communication, our ideas would stay within our own small development teams instead of becoming mature products. While this is obvious to those of us who have become experienced engineers, the real question is: Why is it lost to us when we are engineering students?"
Akbar R Khan, Software Systems Engineer, USA,
"Good Communication Is Essential..."(2014)
MY ANSWER:
I believe that he is trying to imply that communication plays a key role in the development of any product, and that without the most basic of communication skills, the ideation of solutions or products
will stay in each person's head, and not be shared through the group or workforce, thus making a product of a worse quality. Thus, he is asking the public, as to why communication skills are only taught or learnt during the times as a working adult engineer who has been in the industry for quite some time, instead of aspiring or learning youths who are starting to know about the workforce and life of an engineer, who might need the skills to speak, see and convey their ideas
Thanks, Qi Xuan, for your explanation. It's quite detailed. Did you work with a classmate? Who?
ReplyDeleteI was tasked to do this with Gareth as well as Ivy, but we decided to work individually and help each other with fixing any grammatical errors and fixing incorrect information. Thank you so much for the feedback!
